"As a retired law enforcement officer, I understand the complexities of life, trauma, & loss firsthand."

With over a decade of experience in acute psychiatric hospitals and outpatient clinics, I’ve helped individuals at their most critical moments. My focus is on supporting first responders, nurses, doctors, and others who face trauma, death, and loss daily.

I also collaborate with corporations, schools, and first responder agencies to address mental health needs. Using a holistic approach, I work with clients to address their mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I currently only offer in-person therapy in Chico.

Outside of work, I enjoy teaching graduate courses at two local universities, volunteering in my church and community, and spending quality time with my wife and children.

My Methods

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Through CBT, I’ll work with you to identify and reframe negative thought patterns that may be holding you back. Together, we’ll develop practical tools to help you manage emotions, overcome challenges, and build a more positive outlook.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Using EFT, I’ll help you explore your emotions and improve communication in your relationships. Whether with a partner, family member, or loved one, we’ll work to strengthen emotional bonds and create lasting trust.

Somatic Therapy
With Somatic Therapy, we’ll focus on the connection between your mind and body. Using techniques like mindfulness and body awareness, I’ll guide you in processing stress and trauma, helping you feel more grounded and balanced.

Trauma and Recovery Focused

Brainspotting
Using Brainspotting, I’ll help you access and process deeply rooted trauma by identifying where it’s stored in your brain and body. This focused approach allows us to uncover and heal emotional wounds, bringing clarity and relief.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
With TF-CBT, I’ll guide you through a structured process to address trauma and its impact. Together, we’ll work on reframing negative thoughts and building coping skills to help you regain control and find peace.

ICISF Certified in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
As an ICISF-certified professional, I provide support for those experiencing stress from critical incidents. I’ll work with you to process the event, reduce its impact, and develop tools to recover and move forward.
